Ana rolled her eyes slightly at the girl’s paranoia, but frankly, couldn’t blame her much. She was far more paranoid than that, had to be after all she’d seen, and would probably have started shooting on sight on more than one occasion if the same had happened to her.
From this distance, she still couldn’t see the girl’s face properly, so she crept up the side of the alley and moved to the corner, looking up and down the street once. No zombies in sight. They were safe, for now, so she stepped out into the open, but kept her knife ready.
“I said that, Blondie,” she stated, approaching the girl cautiously, still keeping an eye on the street, not really noticing the girl’s features. If she had noticed, she would’ve stopped, probably panicked internally before dragging her back to the bank, to safety, to interrogate her.
She liked the bank, it was her best safe haven yet. She figured out a mechanism to lock and bolt the vault from inside, and the room was quite spacious itself; she’d made the vault her own, she’d been there for nearly a year after all, decorated it and gathered pieces of furniture. She couldn’t cook in there, she did that in the main building, but she only ever really locked the vault to sleep, or if she was under attack. She hadn’t been attacked yet, though; both entrances to the building had shutters and bolts that locked them, and the population of zombies here wasn’t large by any means. She could handle herself there. It was almost… home.
“Now keep quiet and follow me. I don’t want any freaks to follow me back.”
The voice spoke again, and it even gave her a nickname. Which made her smirk, considering the girl was visibly blonde. From where Sparks stood, the girl was hardly visible. It was quiet for a moment, before the ruffle of some nearby walkers could be heard. The other girl instructed for Sparks to follow which made her a bit uneasy. This person was a complete stranger.
Well at least she isn’t dead, Sparks thought to herself.
Before she could think any more, the other girl had began leading. Sparks didn’t want to be left behind, it seemed liked this girl knew her way around the town. That would be an awful thing to dismiss.
So she followed, a couple steps behind but soon she was at the other blonde’s heel.
If the two weren’t try to survive, maybe Sparks would have noticed how their hair matched in shade. or how their silhouettes matched each other. or how her voice sounded familiar. But she couldn’t notice that because they were trying to survive. Sparks eyes darted from side to side searching for any movement. She wondered where she was being led to, and she hoped it wasn’t sabotage.
