Alex scratched his scar, waited for her to speak, it was only polite. Strange that he cared about that during the end of the world, but Sparks was a sweet enough lass. He then nodded, a bit sad that she had been lonely.
“I’m sorry you had to live like that. Though if it helps, having a sibling isn’t always fun, it was more a pain than anything.” He raised his hands in a shrug motion, it was at least true for him. Nancy could be a handful with her temper. Though the more he talked with Sparks the more he figured not only would Nancy like her but Vex would love her.
He leaned back slightly, “You had to have had someone growing up? It’s… Not good to be lonely.” Though he wasn’t the best person to say that, so maybe it was bullshit from him.
Alex flushed, ashamed more than anything, “I was… A prostitute.”
The blonde smiled politely. Sparks knew he said these things to make her feel better, because she already knew how much he missed Nancy. The night had now fallen over them, but she hardly noticed. She focused on Alex as he spoke.
The blonde’s lip pursed as she shamefully admitted that there hadn’t been anyone in her life.
“I grew up without people. but it wasn’t so bad. At least I spoke to people at school…” Sparks trailed off, not wanting this conversation to turn into a pity party about her self.
Alex’s response to his line of work made Sparks jaw drop. She didn’t mean to, but she was honestly surprised. It wasn’t often she’d heard someone taking this profession.
“Oh” She mumbled, regaining composure. Sparks didn’t want him to think she would judge him for this, because she wouldn’t.
“Why?"
