She’d been watching the blonde girl for several minutes from the roof of the abandoned bank building in which she had taken shelter, and frankly, she couldn’t help but wonder what the hell that girl was doing.
Anastasia could see that the girl clearly had skills, and good ones at that, but she had little clue as to why the blonde was wandering the dangerous streets in broad daylight, doing little to cover herself or hide.
She huffed to herself quietly, she just couldn’t keep herself out of trouble, could she? Ana had always been one to try and help others, even if she was a little bitchy and snarky and all-around rude when she did. She just didn’t want to watch others die. She couldn’t.
She was lucky she had chosen to settle in a relatively quiet town. She’d been here for a few months; it wasn’t the city, so the population of zombies was smaller, but that meant supplies were more limited, too; it didn’t matter much to her. She was the only one around here.
Well, she wasn’t anymore.
It took Ana a matter of seconds before she decided to help the blonde girl, before she got herself into trouble that she couldn’t get out of. She scurried across the roof and passed the door that entered the building, instead opting to climb down the fire escape before dropping down into the alleyway below, knife at the ready.
“Hey,” she hissed in the direction of the stranger. The girl was across the street; she still couldn’t see her face, but it was just loud enough so she hoped she’d hear. “Get your arse over here.”
Sparks had come into the city looking for typical things, food and water. She wasn’t seeking shelter in this city, but it seemed pretty empty from far away. Considering that, it may have been raided dry. There was always hope though.
So she went into this town, blade in hand. Figuring she’d only do close up kills around here. Soon she was walking into the town. It was oddly quiet, and clean. Her eyes moved to the tops of buildings, wondering if someone was living in this town. Sparks was cautious, suddenly feeling paranoid. She tallied it up to being her own thoughts, but she never threw out a theory. Sparks was looking into a convenience store that looked pretty empty when she heard a voice that was obviously recognizable.
Sparks turned in a circle, but couldn’t see anyone. She quickly put away her knife, and reached for her gun. Her enemy this time around was human.
“Who said that?” Her gun was out but she wasn’t sure where to point it. “Who said that?!” She whispered this time, wondering if she was going mad.
