Loki nodded once, though most of his attention was focused on the city rather than his human companion. In his experience, much of what had remained after the outbreak had already been taken by others or destroyed by infected, but there would always be something for those willing to search hard enough.
Without warning he set off again, this time at a more comfortable walking pace, carefully skirting around cars left abandoned or written off in the middle of the street. He didn’t bother to glance back to see whether the human was following him. He no longer needed her in the moment, and as such, didn’t much care what she did as long as she wasn’t a liability.
He turned a corner and smiled as he caught sight of a large shopping centre- exactly what he was looking for.
The petite human was nearly gasping for air. She hadn’t run long continuing distances like this since track in high school. Even in the world with a need to run, she gave herself more breaks than she ever noticed. Though she did not complain visibly, not wanting to be teased underneath his judging tongue. They rested for a moment, but he took of without notice.
After a small roll of her eyes, she followed behind him. The girl said nothing, and just followed. He led them directly to a shopping centre. Guess he’d been looking for supplies. They both began making their way there. There were three walkers by the entrance. Once they were caught view of, they began making their way towards the pair.
